Details for the Academic Year 2023-2024

Tuition is due before the first lesson of each month, regardless of how many lessons are in a month, and is paid monthly for the nine months September 2023 through May 2024.

The first tuition payment (September) is due at the first lesson (last week of August), and each following month the tuition payment is due at or before the first lesson of each month (October-May). Your yearly tuition reserves your weekly lesson time exclusively for you for the entire year both during regular weeks and Flex Weeks, and includes the costs of the recital, rehearsals, and special events, as well as personalized technical exercises and repertoire beyond any method books and standard repertoire.

A one-time studio fee of $30 is charged at the beginning of the year.

A late fee of $15 may be assessed if tuition is not paid by the 7th of the month.

There are five Flex Weeks of scheduled makeup lessons scattered throughout the year including the first two weeks in June leading up to the June recital. During those weeks any student who has missed a lesson may have a makeup lesson at their own regularly-scheduled time. In addition, families may also choose to have a Flex Week lesson before they miss a lesson in order to ‘bank’ lessons against possible missed lessons later in the year (e.g., you have a planned vacation or you simply do not want to wait and see what the weather here in central North Carolina will do ;-).

Other than the Flex Weeks, there are two ways to use your lesson time productively when you cannot physically get to your lesson:
1) the student can have an online lesson at the regularly-scheduled time (e.g., if someone in your family is ill, or you are having transportation issues) via FaceTime or Zoom;
2) the student may record their lesson pieces at home and send the video to the teacher for comments and suggestions prior to the next lesson.
Inclement weather lessons will be done as online lessons at the regularly-scheduled time as much as possible (i.e., if the power goes down obviously that is not possible!).

If lessons are missed and not made up via online or home recording and the number of missed lessons exceeds the number of Flex Weeks, the student will lose those lessons. There is no tuition reduction/rebate for missed lessons.

Any student who starts after September will have his/her tuition prorated to begin in the month in which lessons begin.
